High winds are expected across much of southern Idaho Monday evening into Tuesday

Expect to see high winds and blowing snow as the first storm of 2022 rolls into Southern Idaho Tuesday evening.

A Red Flag Warning covering areas to the north of the Snake River to the east will go into effect this afternoon as winds are expected to pickup creating increased fire danger.

Much of southern Idaho is under a red flag warning from the Wood River Valley to the South Hills of Cassia and Twin Falls County.

Southern Idaho forecasters say 90 to 100 degree temperatures will hit much of region and advise people to take precautions in the heat.

More flooding is expected in parts of the Magic Valley today as snow melts off higher elevations.
