Basically everything we buy is considered "consumable" now. That means at some point, usually in the near future, it will have to be replaced. Gone are the days of buying an appliance that will last you the rest of your life. Tech bloggers Unplggd.com have uncovered a list that shows how long your appliance's life span really is. Here's the scoop:

Teamed up with Bank of America, the National Association of Home Builders released the Study of Life Expectancy of Home Components. The data is from a few years back (2007 to be exact), but the study offers much more than just an educated guess at home tech life spans.

Your dishwasher? 9 years. Your microwave? 9 years. Your furnace? 15 to 20 years. The dryer? 11 years. Click the link below to find out how soon you'll be replacing your new appiance.
