Twin Falls city officials are happy with the results so far of the new city recycling program.  The Times News reports that officials say 100 fewer tons  of garbage were sent to the landfill in February compared with the same month last year.  That alone saves the city about $3000.  An additional $15-per-ton rebate for recyclable materials brought the city another $2000.  But perhaps most importantly is the space saved in the landfill.  Officials say the city could save more than $120,000 with the new recycling program.  If the trend continues Twin Falls could recoup more than half of the program’s first year costs.
