For some reason the black cats and dogs at the Twin Falls Animal Shelter tend to be at the shelter longer than lighter furred animals. Debbie Blackwood at the Twin Falls Animal Shelter says that the black dogs and black cats often get overlooked just because of their fur color. To help these dark haired critters find new homes, the Twin Falls Animal Shelter is having a special black tie affair with discounted black cat adoptions. Now, that may seem especially spooky as we get closer to Halloween since black cats are usually associated with witches and bad luck. Don't fear these cats though since they are ready for homes and are almost guaranteed to not be possessed or evil. The shelter has a bunch of teen black cats right now and each adoption is only $25 through the 23rd of October, 2019.

There is also a large selection of dogs at the Twin Falls Animal Shelter and they do a good job of keeping updated pictures on their Facebook page of those dogs that are ready for homes.

This weekend is going to be a fun one for pets and their owners too as the Fun 5k - Walk With Your Pup event happens in Twin Falls. The dog friendly event will be at the First Federal Park and Sunway Soccer Complex on Saturday October 5, 2019 from 8 AM until 10 AM. At the event there will be a dog costume contest, barking contest, and treats for the dogs. Register for the event in advance online.
