BLM Seeks Public Comment on Milner Historic Recreation Area
BURLEY, Idaho (KLIX) – The Bureau of Land Management wants to hear from you about the proposed improvements and conceptual plans for the Milner Historic Recreation Area.
In an effort to update the public and receive feedback, the BLM will host an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. on Jan. 17 at its Burley field office, 15 East 200 South.
According to the agency:
The field office has immediate plans to improve the visitor experience to the recreation area by installing informational trailhead signs at both the west and east ends of the National Historic Oregon Trail that crosses through the area. These trailheads will provide important educational background information about the Oregon Trail and help inform the public about future planned improvements to the area. Plans also include the design and installation of a new boat ramp to improve access to the Snake River.
The agency has requested funding from the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation, but as part of the grant application it must seek public comment on the proposed projects.
