Bliss (KLIX)-  A blown engine sparked a brush fire just off the interstate yesterday afternoon. Bureau of Land Management officials say debris from the blown car engine started the fire at the rest stop just west of Bliss. Bliss Rural Fire Department was first on the scene. The fire moved to public land heading east towards Bliss. Fire officials believe it burned roughly 250 acres. Four BLM fire engines responded to the fire. Crews expected to have a handle on the fire by early this morning. No structures were threatened.
