Burley Man Sentenced For Lewd Conduct With Child

A man from Burley has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for lewd conduct with a child. It was the second time 44-year-old David Leon Johnson was sentenced on the same two counts of felony lewd conduct for molesting a young girl in 2004. 

His first conviction and sentence on the charges was overturned by the Idaho Supreme Court, which found prosecutors were wrongly allowed to submit evidence of prior bad acts in his first trial. The Times-News reports that 5th District Judge Michael Crabtree said Johnson must serve at least five years in prison before he is eligible for parole.
