At  Monday’s  Twin Falls City Council meeting the council voted to send developers to mediation with petitioners who don’t like some of the plans for the new Canyon Park Development project.  That decision came after the council was presented with petitions from two separate groups of concerned citizens in the area of the proposed development.  The groups expressed concern over traffic safety in the area and aesthetics.  In light of the mediation the city council voted to table any further decisions on the project.  If mediation fails then the next step would be district court.  According to City Attorney Fritz Wonderlich the mediation must take place within 28 days.  A mediator will be appointed and any meetings on mediation will be closed to the public.  Also at last night’s meeting, Suzanne Hawkins was unanimously approved by the full city council to fill the seat left by former councilman Lance Clow.
