Department of Labor Launches New Career Info Tool
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – The Idaho Department of Labor has launched a new tool to help job seekers and students plan their careers.
JobScape, funded by a State Longitudinal Data System grant awarded to Idaho by the U.S. Department of Education, gives users a “snapshot of occupations in Idaho including a description, hourly and annual wages, the demand for workers, the current employment numbers and annual job openings,” according to a news release by the department. “Users can also filter the information by region.”
Users are able to view the number of certificates and degrees earned at Idaho’s eight public post-secondary institutions related to an occupation as well as see the typical entry-level education required for each occupation.
Web links are provided to current job openings, and to educational and training programs and degree information for the state of Idaho.
To start, visit the site and type in a career field to explore its further options.
