Farm Pivots Damaged by Vandals in Jerome
JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Some pivots got away in Jerome, or rather, someone set them loose. At about 7 a.m. Tuesday, the Jerome County Sheriff’s Office found pivots on the road.
A vandal pulled pivot stops from the ground at two different farms and left it on the ground, then they manually started the pivot. Without the stop in the way, the pivots were free to keep rolling. Luckily, someone eventually turned them off, but farmers were left with the damage. The vandal attempted to pull another stop at a third man’s farm, but was unable to get the stop from the ground.
One of the farmers that was hit says the vandal is taking their issues out in the wrong way. The Jerome County Sheriff's Office says they have no leads as to who could have done it. As of this afternoon, there were at least three farmers that were hit. So far this vandal has caused about $5,000 in damage. The Jerome County Sheriff's Office asks the public to please reach out to them if you see anything suspicious or if you have any other information regarding this.
