SHOSHONE, Idaho (PRESS RELEASE) – The Idaho Transportation Department will host the final Community Advisory Committee meeting Wednesday (Oct. 5) to gather input on the draft Intersection Study Report for the U.S. 20/Idaho 75 (Timmerman Junction) intersection.

The report identifies a range of recommendations for improvements at the junction. ITD developed the improvements based on technical studies and input from the community.

The public is welcome to attend the meeting at 10 a.m. in the Blaine County Courthouse in Hailey (206 1st Ave. South, Suite #300).

This is the third and final meeting of the study’s Community Advisory Committee. In addition to committee meetings, ITD gathered input through an online survey this summer. More than 700 people took the survey and gave input on potential improvements.

A survey summary and draft study report are posted on the study website: http://itd.idaho.gov/projects/d4/US20_ID75_IntersectionStudy/.

The Timmerman Junction study has allowed ITD to identify, evaluate and recommend safety improvement concepts for the intersection. The study incorporated outcomes from previous federal, state and local planning efforts.

The study will help provide direction necessary to pursue funding and future implementation. Funding for the improvements is not currently in place.

Kittelson & Associates Inc., of Boise, is leading the study in close coordination with staff from ITD District 4 and Blaine County.
