The fire season seems to be getting an early start.  Afternoon rain helped fire crews in Elmore County battle a wildfire about three miles south of Pine. The Curlew Fire grew to just over 200 acres of private land. No structures were threatened and firefighters do not anticipate any containment difficulty.  The early season fire on the east side of Anderson Reservoir was pushed by gusty winds.  Fire prevention officers are reminding landowners to be careful with early season burning.
