Grand Teton National Park Sees Record Visits in July
JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — Grand Teton National Park saw a record number of visitors in July, with 815,721 people travelling the interior roads.
The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports that it exceeded the previous busiest month in the park's history — last July — by more than 10 percent.
Other measures show that the entire Jackson Hole area was unusually busy this summer.
The nearby and much larger Yellowstone National Park also reported July as the busiest month in its 144-year history, counting nearly 996,000 visitors.
The Jackson Hole Airport also saw record passenger numbers, while the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce says area hotels were 93 percent occupied.
