Idaho Father Charged after Leaving Children in Hot Car
NAMPA, Idaho (KTVB) -- A dad is behind bars after Nampa Police say he left his two children alone in a hot car. Police responded to the 16000 block of N. Marketplace Blvd. at around 5:15 p.m. Saturday after people reported two children were left unattended inside a car. Police say the car was parked in direct sunlight with the windows rolled up.
The children, who were both under the age of 3, were found in distress and taken to a local hospital to be evaluated. The children are now in protective custody, according to police. Their father, 31-year-old Salvador Navarro Chavalla, has been charged with felony injury to children.
