BOISE, Idaho (KLIX) The Idaho Army National Guard will mark a change in designation and reorganization this weekend at Gowen Field.

According to the National Guard the 116th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, headquartered in the Magic Valley, will be known as the 116th Brigade Engineer Battalion.

The battalion will have two engineer companies in Mountain Home and Moscow. Also, a signal company and military intelligence company will be based in Boise with support from a company in Jerome.

A ceremony to make the change official will happen Saturday at Gowen Field. The reorganization will increase the battalion to more than 650 soldiers.
