KUNA (KTVB) -- A Kuna woman is facing felony charges after police say she drove drunk while her three young children were left in an apartment by themselves for several hours.

Tabitha See, 30, was arrested Wednesday morning after a tipster called police to report that she had left her children, all of whom are under the age of 10, alone while she was under the influence of alcohol.

A Kuna Police officer responded to the Linder Avenue apartment around 2 a.m. The officer said lights were on in the apartment, and he could hear a television or radio playing. He knocked on the door several times, but no one answered.

The officer searched the area for See's car, but could not find it, so he parked near the apartment and waited.

Police say See pulled into the apartment and parked at about 3:30 a.m. The officer went to talk to her, and noticed she had glassy, bloodshot eyes and smelled like alcohol. A breath test recorded her blood alcohol content at .133, above the legal limit of .08.

Several other officers got into the apartment, where they found See's three children. The children were placed into the care of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.

See was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DUI and three felony charges of injury to child. She was booked into the Ada County Jail, and is due to appear in court Thursday afternoon.

Felony injury to a child is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
