TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- Republican voters set a record Tuesday during Idaho's primary elections. According to a release by the Idaho Republican Party more than 222,000 party members cast ballots, making it the highest voter participation in a primary in state history. that is a 74% participation for Republicans and 30% for registered voters.

"Idaho matters, and last night served as confirmation of that. Five candidates visited in 2015, two candidates rallied in Idaho over the weekend to seek our votes, and record turnout yesterday made the move to the presidential primary a major success," said Idaho GOP Chairman Steve Yates.

The Republican Party of Idaho says Texas Senator Ted Cruz won the primary Tuesday by taking 45.4% of the vote and 20 delegates, with business man Donald Trump getting 28.1% and 12 delegates. The results for the primary elections will not be finalized until next week.
