SANDPOINT, Idaho (AP) — A northern Idaho woman whose 3-month-old son died and was later determined to have been exposed to meth has pleaded guilty to felony injury to a child.

The Bonner County Daily Bee reports  that 26-year-old Samantha Loraine Randel of Wallace pleaded guilty Friday in 1st District Court. Authorities say Randel told authorities she put her son to sleep face up in a breastfeeding pillow in the bed between her and the father.

Randel says the next morning she awoke and found her son unresponsive. Authorities say an autopsy found meth in the infant's system. Police say Randel said she smoked meth before, during and after her pregnancy.
