The Annual Festival of Lights Parade
This parade is one parade that could put even Ebenezer Scrooge himself in the Christmas spirit. Twinkling lights, magical floats that come alive on a winter night, even a visit from the jolly old elf himself. What’s not to love about this Christmas tradition? This will be the parade’s 20th anniversary. It’s also a good excuse to do some of your Christmas shopping in downtown historic Twin Falls while you’re at it. This year’s Parade will roll down Main Street Friday, December 3rd at six pm.

Mile Of Christmas Magic at the Magic Valley Mall
It sounds like your worst nightmare, driving around a mall parking lot during the Christmas season. In reality, it’s just another reason why the Mall is one of our favorite Christmas places. A mile of animated lights set to Christmas music on the mall’s very own Christmas radio station. It’s the perfect way to wrap up an evening of searching for the perfect baubles and kerdopples for your loved ones. While you’re at it be sure to take a minute to visit with Santa Clause, because everyone knows the mall Santa is the real Santa…right? Santa arrives at the mall on November19th; The Mile of Christmas Magic begins on November 24th.

Christmas Music on KOOL 96.5
What would the holiday season be without Karen Carpenter’s version of the “Christmas Song” or Burle Ive’s wishing us a “Holly Jolly Christmas?” At work, at home, or in the car, no matter what you’re doing everything seems just a little more like Christmas when it’s set to the soundtrack of the season. We’ve tried to get the station’s Program Director to go all Christmas in July, but no. Why you wouldn’t want to mow your lawn in 100 degree weather listening to songs about snow, family and all that yummy food is beyond us, but we’ll take it when we can get it. All of it… 24 hours a day… all 600 versions “Santa Clause is Coming to Town.” It IS Christmas after all.

Christmas in the Nighttime Sky
When out of towners tell us they kick of the holidays by lighting a tree or by watching some dancer strut around in tights on a stage with a giant paper mache nutcracker on his head we smile, nod and then we feel sorry for them. Here in the Magic Valley we don’t just let the Christmas season sneak in on us, we herald in the season by lighting up the whole winter sky. Throw in a baked potato smothered with chili, huge roaring bon fires and endless cups of hot coco and it’s not only the event of the season it’s the envy of every community this side of the Rockies. It’s also for a good cause. If the fireworks and music doesn’t get you in the spirit, knowing that your quality, new, unwrapped toy is going to help make a child’s Christmas just a little more magical will. It’s the official kick off to the Christmas Season in the Magic Valley and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
