Alaska Airlines Expands Direct Flight Service From Boise Airport
Trying to fly direct out of Boise? Most often, it seems that the airline gods say: 'try again'.
It isn't so easy--getting out of Boise--unless you're going to say, Seattle or Salt Lake City. If you need to fly to the East Coast? Good luck, things get difficult and most often require a layover in Minneapolis, Atlanta, or Salt Lake City. While flying in the West can be easier...it's still a challenge.
Announced on Thursday, May 7th? A brand new direct flight to and from the Boise Airport, courtesy of Alaska Airlines.
While the flight will be offered only on a seasonal basis, there's still plenty of reason to celebrate. Especially if you're a lover of WINE.
The newest direct route? Boise to (and from) Sonoma, California.
Known as one of, if not THE greatest regions for wine anywhere in America or frankly, in the world, Sonoma is a popular seasonal destination for wine lovers of all extents.
According to Alaska Airlines, Boise and Salt Lake City are two markets that are underserved when it comes to connecting to 'wine country' or Northern California in general. They're trying to fix that.
The route will allow for customers in those regions to escape to some sun and warmth in the winter months while simultaneously allowing those in Northern California to hit some of the nation's greatest slopes in the winter.
The new flight becomes available starting on November 1st of this year and will run through April 19th, 2027.
Prior to the addition of Sonoma, California to the 'direct list' for the Boise airport, these were our only options for getting out of town on a nonstop basis.
