Sunday afternoon at Twin Falls City Park, something amazing happened that proves there are still good people in our town. Two talented local barbers showed up to give free haircuts to kids to help them get ready for the first day of school.

Why Did They Give Free Haircuts to Dozens of Kids in Twin Falls?

There are many ways that a person can use their business or personal talents to help make the community a better place, but helping kids feel good about themselves is huge. On Sunday, that’s what happened when Val, Chris, and Roddy decided to give free haircuts to kids as a way of giving back to the community.

Chris Anderson of Blurred Lines in the Lynwood Shopping Center told me about the rising costs of haircuts. He said they wanted to do the free cuts to mainly help single parents and low-income families, but they didn’t ask for personal info if someone showed up to get a haircut. They did what good people would do and helped the kids.

Will There Be Free Haircuts for Kids in the Park Again?

Chris and Val are stylists and during the 6 hours they were in the park, they did a staggering 42 haircuts! They only had power provided for a specific time, so they did have to turn away a few kids. They hope that next year when they do the event again that more barbers will be willing and able to help more kids. Check out some pictures from the event below, and if your kid still needs a haircut, Chris is offering $17 cuts for kids.
