Juvenile Injured in Dirt Bike Crash North of Twin Falls

Idaho State Police reported 4 major accidents in Idaho over the weekend, 3 of them were in Southern Idaho, and 2 of them involved juveniles.

2 of the major accidents occurred on the same stretch of highway, just a few miles apart, near Twin Falls.

Juvenile Injured in Dirt Bike Accident Near Twin Falls

One of the accidents the ISP is investigating happened Sunday evening, around 7:37, near Wendell on E 3400 S near the S 1800 E intersection.

A juvenile was riding a 2008 Yamaha dirt bike eastbound on E 3400 S when the rider lost control of the bike.

The rider was transported via air ambulance to a local hospital. The rider was wearing a helmet.

Traffic in the area was blocked for about 3 hours while emergency responders from the ISP, Twin Falls and Gooding County Sheriff’s offices, Gooding County Fire and EMS, and Air St. Luke’s worked to clear the scene.

Car vs Semi Truck Accident East of Kimberly, Idaho

Another accident from Sunday evening, which happened around 10:51, is being investigated by Idaho State Police. The crash occurred at the intersection of E 3900 N and State Highway 50 in Twin Falls County, just south of the Hansen Bridge.

A 41-year-old female from American Falls, with a 31-year-old male passenger, from Hansen, was driving eastbound in a 2013 Nissan Altima on E 3900 N. A 56-year-old male from Battle Mountain, Nevada, was driving eastbound in a 2022 Volvo truck on SH-50. The Nissan crossed the westbound lanes on SH-50 before turning westbound into oncoming traffic in the eastbound lanes, where it collided with the Volvo. The Nissan rolled and came to rest on its wheels in the westbound lane.

The driver of the Nissan was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital. She was not wearing a seatbelt. The passenger of the Nissan was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the Volvo was not transported. The driver of the Volvo was wearing a seatbelt.

The accident blocked both directions of traffic on SH 50 for 3 hours.

The other 2 accidents over the weekend include a fatal accident in Kimberly where a child was killed and an injury accident in northern Idaho.
