I have no idea  how to make tamales but I absolutely love to eat them. Fortunately, if you are like me you can learn how to make tamales and you get to eat them. Rudy's in Downtown Twin Falls is hosting a hands on tamale class.

Rudy's is located on Main in Downtown Twin Falls. They typically do a cooking and demonstration class a few times a month. This month it is tamales. Perfect right before the holidays. The class is on Saturday October 19th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm and it is $50 to attend. The hands on class will focus on pork tamales where you make the masa and fill the husks. The best part is you will be able to eat the tamales that you do make with people in the class.

Pork tamales are not my favorite. I really prefer beef or chicken but any tamale is a good tamale if you ask me. This class came at the best time because for some reason tamales are made most often during the holiday season. I purchase tamales around the holidays from family, friends, random vehicles in a parking lot, pretty much wherever I can get them. Now I am going to figure out how to make them all year long.

I have heard it can be a pretty labor intensive but all the deliciousness is totally worth it. If you aren't willing to deal with your family asking for you to make these little pockets of heaven every other weekend you may not want to take the class.
