BOISE, Idaho (KLIX)-A 29-year-old Nampa man was killed when his motorcycle hit a broken down car that had been parked in a median along the interstate.

According to Idaho State Police, at around 4:22 p.m. Clark Nelson was on a 2012 Suzuki motorcycle going at a high rate of speed on Interstate 84 near Meridian when he drove onto the left shoulder and hit a Honda Pilot then he sideswiped a Ford Explorer and was thrown off the motorcycle.

Nelson had been wearing a helmet, but ISP said he died from his injuries at the scene. Several lanes of the interstate were blocked for about two hours during the investigation.
