Neighboring Yakima, WA & Your Daily Bread

It’s one of the least known great inventions and it comes out of Yakima. 

Twist ties and clips might work but most modern bread sacks have a plastic tab keeping the sack closed.  The invention was pure serendipity as this story explains.  A man looking to solve a temporary problem found a solution and a lightbulb went off.  He soon realized it could be employed in his family business and today the company corners the market.

Necessity is the mother of invention clearly applies.  The next time you grab a loaf of bread you’ll need not wonder why!
