Nevada Game Officials Looking for Suspects after Elk Left to Waste
MONTELLO, Nevada (KLIX) Nevada wildlife officials are looking for suspects who may have left a bull elk to waste in northeastern Nevada in November. The Nevada Department of Wildlife says the elk was left to waste near the Winecup Ranch sometime between November 17 and 19 about 150 yards north of the Thousand Springs Road. Game Warden Nick Brunson says another bull elk was harvested close to the elk that was left to waste. He says tire tracks could be seen going from the one spot to the other, which was about 10 feet apart. Officials believe the same group of people shot both bulls. Brunson says there were quite a few hunters in the area at the time and hope someone will come forward. The department is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to a conviction. Witnesses may call OGT at (800) 992-3030 to report information on this or any other wildlife related crime.
