Officer Involved Shooting Under Investigation in East Idaho
POCATELLO, Idaho (KLIX)-East Idaho police say one person was shot Monday afternoon in an officer involved shooting that happened near a restaurant.
In a statement released by the Pocatello Police Department, multiple agencies were attempting to make an arrest as part of a joint drug task force investigation on Jan. 6, at around 5:30 p.m. in Pocatello when the suspect fled in a vehicle. The pursuit ended when the suspect abandoned the car and ran on foot when officers found him near a restaurant.
Police say that is where the shooting happened and the male suspect was taken to Portneuf Medical Center for treatment; no officers were injured in the incident. Pocatello Police said there had been reports of shots fired from two different locations. The investigation is being led by the Idaho Falls Police Department as part of the Eastern Idaho Critical Incident task force.
