NAMPA, Idaho (KTVB) -- One person was killed Tuesday morning when a car flew off a Nampa overpass and landed on a pickup below.

The wreck happened at about 5:40 a.m. where Interstate 84 crosses over Northside Boulevard.

Idaho State Police say a passenger car was headed west on I-84 when the driver apparently lost control. The car went off the side of the overpass, falling onto Northside Boulevard.

Police say the car landed on top of a pickup truck that was headed northbound on Northside Boulevard.

Dispatchers confirmed that one person died in the wreck, but police would not say whether that person was in the car or the pickup.

Northside Boulevard is blocked for more than two hours as police investigated, but was reopened at about 8 a.m.

The identity of the person who died has not been released.
