(KLIX)- A pilot was killed Monday evening after his plane went down in the South Hills just south of Murtaugh. According to the Cassia County Sheriffs office says Joseph Edgar Tugaw, 81, was killed in the crash. No one else was on-board. The single engine Savannah ADV fixed wing plane was found 18 miles up Dry Creek Canyon. According to Allen Kenitzer with the Federal Aviation Administration, the Light Sport Airplane went down for unknown reasons, and was destroyed. Kenitzer says the plane left the Twin Falls airport earlier on Monday. The National Transportation Safety Board is the lead investigating agency for this crash. The Cassia County Sheriff's office says the Mini-Cassia Search and Rescue, Rock Creek Ambulance, and Air St. Lukes 2 responded to the crash shortly after 9pm.
