Rupert’s Wilson Theater Offers Christmas Shows
Public Christmas activities are expanding in Rupert.
The historic Wilson Theater is hosting a concert the evening of December 2nd. It’s a Monday. The doors open at 7 o’clock and the music begins at 7:30. This concert is free!
The Wilson Theater now hosts concerts, movies, plays, art displays and occasionally a live radio show
Additionally, on the 6th and 7th of December, the theater is offering several other events. For $10 a person or $25 for a family of five, you get the following:
“Horse and wagon ride around the Square.
Ice Skating on the plaza.
Movie, your choice The Santa Clause, or the new Grinch.
A make and take craft for the kids.
A "Home Alone" obstacle course.
Visit with Santa.
A Scavenger Hunt (download the HP Reveal APP to play)
And Cookie and Hot Cocoa.”
They tell me at the theater that the above event doesn’t profit the Wilson. Instead, it’s an effort to give back to the community as the theater is expected to break even.
On December 17th, the Wilson hosts a concert by Eclipse 6. It begins at 7:30 in the evening. Ticket information is available if you click here. Eclipse 6 performs A Capella. Dinner and show tickets are 50 dollars. Dinner will start at 6 o’clock. If you skip dinner, show tickets are only 35 dollars.
The theater has had a complete restoration. The building was constructed by a wealthy man from St. Louis. He came to Rupert a century ago and believed the then isolated community needed a venue for entertainment.
The Wilson Theater now hosts concerts, movies, plays, art displays and occasionally a live radio show (I’ve hosted two at the legendary building).
