Saint Benedict’s Considering Merger with Saint Luke’s

Saint Benedict’s Family Medical Center could soon be part of the Saint Luke's Health Care System.  The Jerome hospital announced today that Saint Luke’s  is in dissuasion with the hospital in regards to a possible merger.  According to a press release, Saint Benedict’s parent company, Essentia Health, has adopted a health care model that is based on the proximity of Essinia medical centers. The press release states that “Because Essentia..has no medical centers near St. Benedict's, they imitated a search to find a locally based healthcare system partner.” St. Benedict's hospital CEO Jess Hawley says the talks between the two hospitals are ongoing and would continue throughout the summer.
