Right now there are three options before the CSI Board of Trustees to raise fees for CSI students.  Whichever option is chosen, fees are going up.  The Times News says the Board has been considering ways to make up for the  budget shortfall for some time.  No decision will be made until after today when the Legislature’s budget-setting committee will recommend a funding level for community colleges in the state.  The Board would also like student input on the three options.  The three options include increasing the per credit charge to $110 from the current $105…Decreasing the per-credit charge to $100 from the current $105 and charging students for each credit they take, or keeping the current $105 per credit charge and charging student after they surpass 15 credit hours instead of the current 16.  Whichever option is chosen, it will take effect this coming school year.
