The Twin Falls City Council was still unable to reach a consensus on a permanent solution to the downtown parking issue yesterday.  With councilman Trip Craig absent the council voted 3 to 3 on an amended proposal to discontinue using parking meters in the downtown area and stop leasing private parking spaces and turn them all into public spaces.

The Twin Falls City Council is forming a task force to look at the downtown parking issue and come up with ideas of how to handle parking in the downtown area.  After discussion last night over two recent surveys to get other opinions on the matter, the council voted 6 to 1 to form the task force.

The Twin Falls Planning and Zoning Commission has turned down a request from a Twin Falls Church to take over a building in downtown Twin Falls for church services.  The 4 to 2 vote denied the request from Magic Valley Bible Church to begin using the former Cain’s Furniture building, a long time landmark of downtown,  located on Main Street.

The Twin Falls City Council will be taking another look at a proposed renovation of the water fountain in downtown Twin Falls tonight.  The Twin Falls Community Foundation has proposed an overhaul of the area to bring it into the 21 century.  The fountain in downtown was built back in the early 1970’s and the area has served as a meeting place for many functions over the year.
