The Twin Falls City Council was still unable to reach a consensus on a permanent solution to the downtown parking issue yesterday.  With councilman Trip Craig absent the council voted 3 to 3 on an amended proposal to discontinue using parking meters in the downtown area and stop leasing private parking spaces and turn them all into public spaces.

Twin Falls City Council may finally decide on the fate of the parking meters in downtown Twin Falls and a host of other parking issues.

Last night the Twin Falls City Council decided to revisit some proposed changes to downtown parking in a couple of weeks.  The council was considering some recommendations from the special task force that had studied the downtown parking situation for the past several months.

The special task force set up by the Twin Falls City Council to  study parking in the downtown area has made several recommendations and the City Council will consider those tonight.

The Twin Falls City Council is forming a task force to look at the downtown parking issue and come up with ideas of how to handle parking in the downtown area.  After discussion last night over two recent surveys to get other opinions on the matter, the council voted 6 to 1 to form the task force.

We told you earlier this week about two boys caught on video surveillance pulling flowers out of planters in downtown Twin Falls and throwing the plants on the ground.

Tuesday evening the Twin Falls Planning and Zoning Commission approved a request by the Magic Valley Bible Church to move downtown, into the former Cain’s Furniture building.

The Twin Falls Planning and Zoning Commission has turned down a request from a Twin Falls Church to take over a building in downtown Twin Falls for church services.  The 4 to 2 vote denied the request from Magic Valley Bible Church to begin using the former Cain’s Furniture building, a long time landmark of downtown,  located on Main Street.

The Twin Falls City Council will be taking another look at a proposed renovation of the water fountain in downtown Twin Falls tonight.  The Twin Falls Community Foundation has proposed an overhaul of the area to bring it into the 21 century.  The fountain in downtown was built back in the early 1970’s and the area has served as a meeting place for many functions over the year.

“Downtown Alive” is not a new singing group but rather the name of a new organization that is designed to revitalize downtown Twin Falls.  The formation of “Downtown Alive” was announced by Mark Rivers who was hired by the Twin Falls Urban Renewal Agency as a consultant.

The Twin Falls Community Foundation held an open house yesterday giving area residents a chance to look at some proposed plans for the fountain area in downtown.
