The Twin Falls City Council is forming a task force to look at the downtown parking issue and come up with ideas of how to handle parking in the downtown area.  After discussion last night over two recent surveys to get other opinions on the matter, the council voted 6 to 1 to form the task force.  Only Councilwoman Rebecca Mills Sojka voted against the idea saying the council already has the information it needs to make a decision.  The long running question over the downtown parking has been the presence of parking meters.  Some believe the meters are needed to regulate parking while others feel it’s a detriment to shoppers.  Mills Sojka suggested the meters be covered for a year to see the results of no parking meters for that period of time then re-evaluate the situation.  Those who would like to be on the task force should contact Mayor Don Hall.
