Last night the Twin Falls City Council decided to revisit some proposed changes to downtown parking in a couple of weeks.  The council was considering some recommendations from the special task force that had studied the downtown parking situation for the past several months.

Those recommendations would have removed the parking meters, stopped leasing individual parking spaces, and provided free public parking on all city owned lots on a first come, first served basis.  The issue stems from two changes to the recommendations that would allow the city to continue to lease individual parking spaces and would leave the parking meters in place but just not use them.  In spite of the negative vote, the council will look at the recommendations again in December.
