The One Place That Rivals Twin Falls Albertsons Fried Chicken
If there's one thing people know about me, that is that I'm a massive fan of fried chicken. Surprisingly, I haven't personally had better fried chicken in southern Idaho than the selection I get at the Twin Falls Albertsons.
Not to ruffle any feathers, but in my opinion, some restaurants need to step up their fried chicken game in southern Idaho. I remember growing up as a teenager, anytime my mother told my brother and me that we were having fried chicken for dinner, I made sure to tell my friends I wasn't available to hang out those nights. Most other meals I blew off and went to Taco Bell.
My wife's family has a tradition of buying a large bucket of Albertsons fried chicken every time they go Christmas Tree hunting in the South Hills. My mother-in-law would lower the tailgate of her truck and set the bucket on it while we stood around a fire and sipped beer. It was these outings that made me a big fan of the store's chicken.
To find the only fried chicken I enjoy more than the Twin Falls Albertsons, you'd have to drive 500 miles south of the city to the closest Lucille's Smokehouse BBQ. There's a location in Henderson, Nevada, and nobody makes it better in my opinion. Lucille's Smokehouse BBQ has other locations in Sacramento, Phoenix, and Los Angeles, and if you ever pass by one, you've got to stop in for some grub.
A side order of Albertsons potato wedges and slaw, and you've got a great meal to sit down to. Is it lunchtime yet?
