Weather Officials Warn of Flooding Near Shoshone
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) People living in the Shoshone area are being warned of flooding with recent wet weather.
The National Weather Service in Pocatello issued a Flood Advisory below the Big Wood River channel and the Little Wood River upstream from Shoshone. Officials expected water to spill from the Big Wood River through the Cottonwood Slough into the Little Wood River. Areas that could be impacted are the railroad embankment near Shoshone as well as local road ways, including Highway 75.
People have been advised to keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams. Many banks and culverts can become unstable and wash away. Citizens are also advised to call local law enforcement if they do spot flooding.
A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. National Weather Service.
