It seems like every year water is a big concern for the Twin Falls canal company, and with good reason. February water levels were so low that residences were asked to conserve at home, and it was suggested that Magic Valley residents stop washing their cars.

A household hose spits out about 10 gallons of water every minute, so if you wash your car at home you are wasting a lot of water. In order to conserve water it's more efficient to take your car to the car wash. The average car wash can wash your car in 6 minutes and recycles it's water. If you wash your car at home it takes you about 30 minutes and all the water you use it wasted.

We are no longer in a drought but Magic Valley residences are still being asked to be mindful of how often they wash their car, and how they use water in their homes.
