Another Overnight Detour Planned in the Magic Valley
HEYBURN, Idaho (KLIX) – If you’re planning to travel to eastern Idaho in the early morning hours of Wednesday, be aware that traffic will be detoured.
A temporary traffic pattern will be in place from 3 to 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, for motorists heading east on interstates 84 and 86 from Burley to Pocatello, according to the Idaho Transportation Department.
During this time period, crews will pour the remaining portion of a concrete barrier on the edges of a newly constructed bridge.
The project is part of the Salt Lake Interchange replacement project that started in May 2018 and that has a completion date of late 2020. Draper, Utah-based Wadsworth Brothers Construction is the primary contractor.
ITD is urging motorists to use caution while traveling through the work zone:
Drivers should still anticipate reduced speeds through the work zone and pay close attention to signage in place to safely direct motorists through the area.
