Boise Second Worst City For Drivers

It had to happen, the days of joking about traffic and congestion are over.  Commutes to and from work in the Treasure Valley are now starting to rival those of our brothers and sisters in bigger cities and the coasts.  And now a new study confirms what we've sadly come to know as the new truth about our daily journeys to and from work.  It's getting really crazy on our roads.  Idaho's capitol city now has the distinction of being the second worst city for drivers, according to quotewizzard.

The study says that Portland, Oregon is the worst city and our friends in Salt Lake City, Utah rolls in at number 6.  (I wonder if any of these folks in the study have driven through Salt Lake recently?  Can you say overly aggressive drivers?)  The study took a look at several factors to determine which city would be the best of the worst.

The study looked at a select criteria in 75 cities across the country.  They are the following:

• Accidents
• Speeding Tickets
• DUIs
• Citations (running a red light, using a cellphone while driving, etc.)

Most alarming about this study was the factor that Boise was one of the smaller cities that ranked so high.  The Idaho Legislature is rumored to reconsider a 'hands free' requirement in the upcoming legislative session.  The bill was hotly debated in the last session, but failed to get enough support to become law.
