Five different Broncos took a snap from center Saturday night in Boise States 59-37 win over Hawaii. Three of the players were actual quarterbacks and two others wide receivers playing the wildcat.

ESPN 2 announcers seemed surprised but those who follow Boise State pretty much took the QB rotation in stride.Hank Backmeier started the game and Chase Cord and Jaylen Henderson made the most of their appearances with each throwing a touchdown pass, the first time since 2008 three Broncos had thrown for a touchdown in the same game.

John Hightower and Khalil Shakir also took snaps but they did so in the Wildcat, however Hightower did look pretty nifty when he made an inside hand off to Robert Mahone who took it in for a touchdown.

The multiple players taking snaps sure gives BYU something to think about this week even as the status of Bachmeier is up in the air. The true freshman was hurt in the second quarter of the Hawaii game and didn't return. He apparently has a hip pointer which is basically a bruise on his hip, an injury that can take one to three weeks to heal.

My guess is Chase Cord will start the BYU game but Bachmeier will make the trip and be in uniform if needed. The luxury for Boise State is Jaylen Henderson who showed he too can run the Bronco offense.

Boise State is 7-2 all time against BYU but just 2-2 in Provo. Boise State will take a six game road win streak into Lavell Edwards stadium.

Kickoff Saturday 8:15pm.
