TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – Don’t worry about fixing dinner Saturday night, the Canyon Ridge cheer team has got it covered.

Visit the high school this Saturday, Sept. 24, for a fundraising dinner hosted by the school’s cheer team. Money raised at the event will help pay for this year’s team competition fees and other related expenses.

We try to provide a variety of fundraising opportunities throughout the year.

The cheerleaders have the opportunity to attend four competitions this school year, according to fundraising coordinator Stephanie Mort, including state competition at the end of the year. So far, the CRHS team has been to state competition four different times.

“We try to provide a variety of fundraising opportunities throughout the year,” she said, noting that the cost of bus, hotel and eating arrangements add up, not to mention the fees to enter competitions and cost of uniforms.

“Each competition has a registration fee of $200-$350,” Mort explained. “State registration is $450; choreography is $450 and then there are fees for the music being set up and timed to our routines; motel expenses for the competitions and state.”

Some of the fundraising events the team participates in include hosting car washes and yard sales; selling Krispy Kreme donuts, Salt City Candles and Scentsy items; and, of course, holding the spaghetti dinner this Saturday.

The dinner – which includes spaghetti, garlic bread, green salad and a dessert – will be held in the Canyon Ridge High School cafeteria. Tickets, which are being sold in advance and will be available at the door, are $10 for adults, $7 for children ages 7 and under, or $30 for a family of two adults and up to three children.

The event includes door prizes and a silent auction, but Mort said the team is still looking for donations. If you’re interested in donating or buying tickets, contact Mort at 316-3573.
