City Council Appoints New Library Trustee
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – The Twin Falls City Council on Monday approved the appointment of Tona Casella to a partial term as a library trustee.
Casella, during her 13-month appointment, will fill the remaining term of former board member Margaret Peck, who recently resigned. Her appointment starts on Nov. 9 and lasts through Dec. 31, 2017.
I am confident," Casella wrote, "that my passion for our Library is an excellent match.
“Ms. Casella expresses a strong interest in the Library and is prepared to accept the full responsibilities of working Library Trustee for the term of office from 2016-2017,” Twin Falls Public Library Director Tara Bartley wrote in a letter recommending Casella’s appointment.
In her own letter, which Bartley read during the council meeting, Casella wrote that she is “confident that my passion for our Library is an excellent match,” and that she was “very grateful to be in a position where service to my family and community is more important than my corporate career.”
She said she’s had more than 25 years of experience working at academic, corporate and municipal sectors. Her appointment as a library trustee is a new challenge, but one that she is eager to fill honorably and with enthusiasm.
Casella will be sworn into her new position at the next board meeting.
“I am excited,” she told the council after they approved her appointment. “Thank you.”
