Crash with Bus Near Heyburn Sends Three to the Hospital
BURLEY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Paramedics flew the driver of a car that hit a school bus to a Pocatello hospital Friday morning. The Cassia County Sheriff's Office said just before 8 a.m., a car driven by Juan Gonzales Mireles, 39, traveled eastbound on 400 South and ran a stop sign, striking a head start school bus heading southbound on State Highway 27 in Heyburn.
The impact tipped the bus on its side.The bus did not have any children on board, but did have a driver who was transported to Cassia Regional Medical Center with minor injures. The Mireles was taken by air ambulance to Portenuf Regional Medical Center in Pocatello with a head laceration and possible internal injuries. The sheriff's office said a male child was in Mireles car at the time of the accident and was taken to the Cassia hospital with minor injuries.
