East Idaho Teen Injured after Rear Ending School Bus
BLACKFOOT, Idaho (KTVB) -- A 16-year-old was injured Wednesday morning after crashing into the back of a school bus.
Idaho State Police say 41-year-old Lanett Sanders was driving a Snake River School District school bus east on State Highway 39 when the collision occurred at about 7:30 a.m.
Police say the bus was rear-ended by a Toyota pickup driven by 16-year-old Dekan Peterson of Blackfoot when Sanders slowed down to turn onto 1075 West, Peterson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was injured in the wreck.
Although there were children on the bus, neither they nor Sanders were hurt. The crash remains under investigation.
