Former Substitute Teacher Faces Child Sex Abuse Charges
Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) The jury trial begins Wednesday for a former substitute teacher facing sexual abuse charges of a child.
Kenneth Howard Atencio substituted in the Jerome School District from April to November of 2013, according to Superintendent, Dale Layne.
Atencio substituted a total of 18 days during that time.
Jerome court records show between June and August of 2013, he committed two counts of lewd conduct with a minor under 16 and two counts of sexual abuse of a minor under 16.
But a case against him wasn't filed until November 29th.
His trial is set to get underway Wednesday at 9 a.m. in front of Judge John Butler.
