TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) Garbage collection in Twin Falls and Jerome has been delayed due to the weather. Les Reitz with PSI, contractor for garbage pickup in Twin Falls and Jerome, says garbage trucks were not able to pickup trash on Thursday because of too much snow.

Reitz says they will run normal Friday schedules today and make the Thursday pickup on Saturday. Homeowners are asked to clean as much snow around their garbage bins as possible or move them closer to cleared roads. Reitz says they won't be able to get to them if they are on the other side of a snow drift or where snow has been piled up. Most curbs have been piled up with snow.

Also, trucks will not be able to access most alley ways in Jerome and Twin Falls because they have not been cleared and may not be for some time. If garbage is picked up in alleys ways, Reitz says move them to the the front of the home. Reitz says it is too dangerous to take large garbage trucks into an alley that has not plowed. Plus, he says there is no place to move the snow.
