IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — An eastern Idaho 15-year-old boy who authorities say threatened two girls with a knife at Idaho Falls High School has been arrested as a juvenile and faces felony aggravated assault.

The boy also faces misdemeanor charges of possession of a weapon on school property and making a threat on school property. Idaho Falls Police Department spokeswoman Joelyn Hansen says the boy was taken into custody Monday after the girls reported Thursday what happened and that they felt threatened.

She says the boy told police he was just showing the knife to others during lunch hour Thursday. Margaret Wimborne is coordinator of communications and community engagement for the Idaho Falls School District. She says school officials are investigating and that no disciplinary decisions have been made so far.
