TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) With about a month before state and federal taxes are due, the Idaho Tax Commission is reminding tax payers there are ways to get a refund sooner. Officials say if you file in March you could get a refund faster if you are expecting one. The deadline for all taxes is set for April 18, which is a Tuesday, for 2016 income taxes.

March is the best time to beat the rush, file your taxes, and get a faster refund before the last wave of returns starts coming in April,” said Renee Eymann, the Idaho State Tax Commission’s public information officer said in a prepared statement. “Once April arrives, we get showered with about 250,000 tax returns, most of them arriving on the due date.”

Here are the ways the Idaho Tax Commission says you can speed up a tax return from the state:

  • E-file your state tax return
  • File as soon as you can during March
  • Choose to have your refund directly deposited into your bank account
