SHOSHONE, Idaho (KLIX)-After several thousand dollars in damages by vandals at the Shoshone City park, local law enforcement will be monitoring the area more closely to prevent any more damage.

In a notice on the Shoshone Police Department's Facebook page Sunday evening, Chief Austin Smith said the city park had been hit a fifth time in a little more than a month. Now police will speak with anyone in the park between the hours of 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., regardless of who they are. The chief said it would not be done to harass, annoy, or disrupt anyone, but rather make the park a fun and enjoyable place to be.

Cameras will also be installed around the area and officers will do random walks every 20 to 30 minutes in the future. A reward is being offered to anyone that may have information about the person or persons responsible for the damage, individuals can remain anonymous.
